Well, I’m getting extremely excited…I just arrived in Seattle, which on July 15th will be the final destination, and closing ceremonies of the “Best of the Road” 2012. I’ll be catching a flight tomorrow evening en route to Washington D.C., where the starting ceremonies will begin June 15th. We have a couple days of training before the start of the rally. On June 15th, each of the five teams will be given a category…either “Most Fun,” Most Patriotic,” “Most Beautiful,” “Best for Food” or “Friendliest” small town.
Once we receive our category and rally information, we’ll be off—visiting six pre-selected cities that will be vying for the top prize in each of the respective categories. We’ll be stopping by additional cities and towns along the 3000 mile trek back here to Seattle. So, if you want us to check out your town, be sure to follow Team “Road Bros” (Brian and me) at BestoftheRoad.com, Mike’s Road Trip.com and/or TheTravelVlogger.com. You can also ask questions or give us suggestions via Facebook and Twitter @BestoftheRoad or hash tag #BestoftheRoad.
Thanks again to everyone who voted for us! And, thank you to Rand McNally and USA Today for selecting us, we’re extremely excited and ready to find…the “Best of the Road.”
Oh, BTW, the Travel Channel will be following us and will air a one-hour “Best of the Road” episode on July 25th at 8pm EST.
