52 photo overview of 2013

Here are 52 travel-inspired photos (one for each week of the year) I took throughout 2013. This post was inspired by fellow travel blogger, Alex Berger of Virtual Wayfarer, who published a post of his 65 best images of the year and is really worth a look. I should mention, these are not my best images of the year, but rather my motive was to share the quantity of places I visited in 2013. Believe it or not, this is not even close to a complete list. It was an epic year of road tripping, click here to read the stats. BTW, if you can visualize a map while looking at the photos, you’ll see the route I took.

  1. Wow – great photos – too many to name which one is my favorite! New Mexico, Smoky Mountain, Gervasi & Lake Placid to name a couple. Looks like you have logged many, many miles Mr. Mike 🙂

  2. Mike,

Thanks so much for the shoutout and kind words. Love the week theme!

Very jealous you got to see Tucson during that snow storm. That shot of the saguaro is gorgeous. Such a cool contrast!

Also a huge fan of the shot from Eureka. There’s something about old ads on the side of brick buildings that I’ve always loved. Just adds so much charm to a city.

Great post and what a year! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hey Alex, my pleasure. I know, that snowstorm in Tucson was insane. Funny story…I was south of Tucson the night before and got a blizzard warning on my phone. Of course, I thought it was some sort of mistake. 16 hours later…I kid you not, I’m driving through a blizzard. I agree…I just love those old painted billboards. There were some cool ones in Galena, IL that I have pics of as well. Thanks so much for stopping by. Cheers!
