Heading to Germany soon…

My very first trip to Europe was in the mid-90s, and one of the countries I visited was Germany. Back then, Germany was not far removed from the fall of the Berlin Wall. I know a lot has changed since then and I’m really excited to see just how much.

I will be flying into Berlin, and for the first few days, will be attending and speaking at ITB, one of the largest travel conferences in the world. I have a couple of wonderful hotels lined up in Berlin, along with some fantastic dining experiences. I keep hearing about this culinary renaissance that Germany has been going through and am looking forward to tasting my way through the country.

After the ITB conference and a bit of time in Berlin, I’ll be renting a car and road tripping to the northern part of the country. On my first and only trip to Germany back in the 90s, I visited Cologne, Heidelberg and Berlin. On this trip, after my time in Berlin, I’ll be heading to the northern part of the country where I’ll spend a couple of days in Lubeck, then head to Hamburg. Bremen, Bremerhaven and then Brunswick. I’ll likely be stopping in many other places as I travel from one city to the next. Once I’m on the ground, I usually get lots of suggestions from locals and those following me on social media.

I’ll be in Germany for two weeks, posting frequently to social media, so I hope you’ll follow along. In the months to come, please check back as I’ll be writing many stories about my adventures as well as producing some video content.
