Mike Shubic goes on an Adventure…

Caught up in the economic downturn just like so many others, I’ve decided to try something different in order to create opportunity for myself.  Check back often for information, stories and travel related topics.

  1. Mike: Enjoyed your video of Port Orford on the Oregon coast. One correction. Port Orford, or Cape Blanco to be exact, is not the furthest west point in the lower 48. In the state of Washington, near Cape Flattery Lighthouse, is Cape Alava. Cape Alava is one or two degrees further west than Cape Blanco. We must give our friends in that great state their just due. Otherwise, great work, loved the video.

    1. Hi Roald, thanks so much for the post. You are not the first one to comment on this topic and I appreciate the correction…I have recently placed a disclaimer in the post, as what I said was “the most westerly community,” not “point.” I am aware than Cape Flattery is the most “westerly point” as I have been there as well. Thanks again for the comment.
