I have road tripped all over the state of Washington, but one area that has eluded me, and has been high on my list of places to visit, is the San Juan Islands.
Next week I’ll be traveling to Seattle for a family wedding, then I will head Northwest to the majestic San Juan Islands where I’ll visit Friday Harbor and Orcas Island, just two of the four main islands. While there are only four islands served by the Washington State Ferry system, there are 172 total islands and reefs in the area, which makes it a spectacular place for boaters to explore. I’m excited to see some of these islands while on a sunset sailboat cruise.
Have you been to the San Juan Islands? If so, what is the ONE thing I should not miss? So far this is what my itinerary looks like:
Day One: Explore downtown Friday Harbor, a Zipline tour, stroll through a sculpture garden and dinner at McMillin’s.
Day Two: Explore the San Juan Island Historical Park, visit a lavender farm, some vineyards and then head to Orcas Island where I’ll be dining at Rosairo Mansion.
Day Three: Explore Orcas Island, maybe do some kayaking and then a sunset sail with Kruger Escapes.
