    MikesRoadTrip.com is published my Mike Shubic, an award-winning travel writer and author of 52 Tips to a Perfect Get-Away, and the soon-to-be-released novel, Lines, Signs and Forks – Diaries of a Nomadic Road Tripper. Mike’s Road Trip has been published since early 2010 and is ranked within the top 150 travel blogs from around the world according to Alexa.

    Mike has traveled the world working with destinations, PR firms, attractions, and lodging establishments to develop stories, take photos, and produce videos that he publishes and distributes across a network of outlets. Mike was part of the cast of the Travel Channel show, “Best of the Road” in 2012.     Mike’s demanding travel schedule fills up quickly, often nearly a year in advance. There are three press trip promotional package options to chose from, for Domestic or International travel.

    DOMESTIC PRESS TRIPS

    Package A (3 to 4 day trip)

    Expectation requirements:

    • All lodging, transportation and activities to be included.
    • Free time built in to discover/flesh out stories, interviews, photos, etc.

    Expectation of content created and coverage:

    • Overview story of the trip, typically 750-1500 words. Embedded links to many participating partners.
    • One vignette story on a special experiences/attraction during the trip, typically 250-400 words.
    • Road Diary update (informal post to keep my readers up-to-date)
    • All articles will be supported by quality photographs.
    • One photo gallery on MikesRoadTrip.com of the best images of the trip (typically 20-50 images)
    • Several social media mentions during visit, and, to promote content once developed.

    Fee:

    • Package A is $500

    Package B (4 to 7 day trip)

    Expectation requirements:

    • All lodging, transportation and activities to be included.
    • Free time built in to discover/flesh out stories, interviews, photos and video filming.

    Expectation of content created and coverage:

    • Overview story of the trip, typically 750-1500 words. Embedded links to most participating partners.
    • A vignette story on a special experience/attraction during the trip, typically 250-400 words.
    • Two Road Diary updates (informal post to keep my readers up-to-date)
    • All articles will be supported by quality photographs.
    • One-two photo galleries on MikesRoadTrip.com of the best images of the trip (typically 20-50 images)
    • Several social media mentions during visit, and, to promote content once developed.
    • One 3-5 minute overview or top-10/best of video.

    Fee:

    • Package B is $3500 (Single attraction or inn/resort the fee is $1800 and the video will be approximately 3 minutes in duration)

    Package C (5 to 7 day trip)

    Expectation requirements:

    • All lodging, transportation and activities to be included.
    • Free time built in to discover/flesh out stories, interviews, photos and video filming.

    Expectation of content created and coverage:

    • Overview story of the trip, typically 750-1500 words. Embedded links to most participating partners.
    • One-Two vignette stories on special experiences/attractions during the trip, typically 250-400 words.
    • Three Road Diary updates (informal post to keep my readers up-to-date)
    • All articles will be supported by quality photographs.

    • Package C is $5500 (Individual attraction or Inn/Resort the fee is $4000 and the feature video will be no longer than 3 minutes)

    Package A (6-10 day trip)

    Expectation of content created and coverage:

    • One-two vignette stories on special experiences/attractions during the trip, typically 200-400 words.
    • Overview story of the trip, typically 1000-2500 words. Embedded links to most participating partners.
    • One vignette video of the trip. This might be experiential in nature or other format and is typically 1-2 minutes in duration.
    • Two-four Road Diary updates (informal posts to keep my readers up-to-date)
    • All articles will be supported by quality photographs.
    • One photo gallery on MikesRoadTrip.com of the best images of the trip (typically 30-75 images)
    • Several social media mentions during visit, and, to promote content once developed.

    Video:

    • Each additional hour of filming is $65. Each additional minute of editing is $175.

    • Videos are uploaded to the Mike’s Road Trip YouTube channel, they can be shared via social media and can be embedded to any stakeholder website. Exclusive usage can be negotiated.

    Coverage:

    • All coverage will be promoted at MikesRoadTrip.com as well as my social media network. All editorial coverage will be promoted on the home page of MikesRoadTrip.com for at least  a week.
    • Highly compelling coverage has an opportunity to be be re-purposed for featured articles and posts.

    Need quality photos at an affordable price?

    To make working with me easy, I charge a simple flat fee (verses usages rights) for extended limited use of the image(s) purchased (I do retain all © copyrights). In other words, you may use the images you purchase from me for as long, and in any way you like in perpetuity, i.e. print ads, website, social media, T.V., billboards, etc.

  • Restaurant Experiential Coverage

    If you own or manage a unique, hip and/or local fine dining restaurant with an aire of panache, we want to hear from you. Mike’s Road Trip offers experiential coverage to help you get noticed.

    WHAT TO EXPECT:

    • During the visit(s) – Mike will “check-in” using FourSquareFacebook and Twitter with a link back to your restaurant website.
    • After the initial visit, Mike will write a blog post with images and a backlink to your site and post to the “Road Diary” portion of Mike’s Road Trip—as well as several social media sites like FourSquareFacebook and Twitter.
    • During the visit, Mike will be photographing and gathering video B-roll footage of various rooms, angles and prepared dishes. During the dining experience he will work in some on-camera scenes, i.e. intro and conclusion clips, various dishes, enjoyment of the meal , possible interviews, etc.
    • In the coming weeks – Mike will write a full review/story of his experience at your establishment, which will be supported with a few photos and video. The post will be featured on the home page of Mike’s Road Trip for at least a week, and then it can be found under the appropriate “Featured Restaurants” section. (For example, Click here)
    • Once live on Mike’s Road Trip – you can further leverage the experience by utilizing a customized press release that can be provided for you to send to local media outlets.
    • Asset usage – all published assets created and collected, i.e. pictures, video, content, etc. can be obtained and used free of charge(Note: original files and/or manipulation of files can also be obtained for a modest fee).

    COVERAGE:

    • Production of an experiential video of your restaurant (approx. 2-3min). The video will be utilized to support the Mike’s Road Trip story on your establishment, and will be uploaded to over a dozen travel-related and video sharing sites…including TripFilms.com where Mike is a paid contributor. YouTube player code can be provided so that the video can be viewed on your own website.
    • A photo album of pictures will be created for viewers. (see example)
    • You’ll receive additional mentions and links in any applicable local destination coverage produced by Mike’s Road Trip.
    • In addition to the video being uploaded to video sharing sites, the entire post will be uploaded to a variety of travel-related and social media sites, i.e. Digg, TripAdvisor, Yelp, Facebook, Twitter, HubPages, and many, many others. Click here to see my social media network.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • I only feature unique, quality and local restaurants and will do a fair amount of due-diligence before I agree to visit/cover your establishment.
    • If selected, I require a meal for up to four people for the filming footage.
    • $500 payment, which up to 50% can be used in trade depending upon the duration of my time in the area.
    • Allow 3-4 weeks (often sooner) for footage to be posted on Mike’s Road Trip.com and his social media network.
