Now in “Kicking Horse,” just above Golden, B.C.

Just when I think it can’t get any better, I stay in yet another amazing bed and breakfast. I’m currently in this wonderful ski area called, “Kicking Horse,” which is just above the Golden, B.C. area. I’m staying at the Vagabond Lodge, which really is a quintessential lodge. So many places call themselves “lodges,” this place really feels like one—tons of solid timbers with western décor and wonderfully appointed rooms, including a feather bed.

The views from Vagabond Lodge are amazing, with plenty of vantage points  from its wrap-around deck.  There are a few great restaurants within walking distance.  This evening I had a spectacular dinner than included Sockeye grilled salmon with mixed field greens, roasted corn, goat cheese, fresh blueberries and strawberries with diced beats.  Oh, it was sooo good!

I look forward to exploring the area and reporting more soon.
